BICYCLE
ILLINOIS
July 5 - 12, 2008
THE ONLY CYCLING
EVENT ACROSS THE ENTIRE STATE OF ILLINOIS!
Starting
from the town of Cairo at Illinois' southernmost tip
and ending in the heart of downtown Chicago, Bicycle
Illniois is the only cycling
event across the entire state of Illinois! Held annually,
the route covers 500 to 600 miles with nightly stops
in
Carbondale,
Centralia, Effingham, Champaign, and Kankakee. A century
option is also available every day!
There will be six consecutive days of
riding. Daily rides are divided into individual ride
segments, typically about 20 miles long with supported
rest stops between these ride segments. The route follows
the safest, most direct route between our stopping
towns.
In addition, you can continue cycling
all the way to Wisconsin the following day on the Tri-State Tour, which also includes a century option. That’s
up 7 centuries in 7 days - no other cycling event even
comes close!
Whether you are a recreational cyclist
looking for the sense of accomplishment riding across
the entire state Illinois or an athlete looking to
challenge yourself and improve your cycling skills,
Bicycle Illinois has something for you. You'll gain
a new level of satisfaction and self-confidence as
you ride with new friends along the way, supported
by our caring, service-oriented, professional staff.
Relax, we've made it easy for you to focus on cycling
and having fun!
