Partial Day Tours
Can't make the full tour? Do you know time,
money, or physical endurance will be issues for you?
Then register to ride anywhere from one to five
days on a partial day tour! You can participate in
any
combination of the days of the tour that work best
for you - we do not require that you do the entire
tour or nothing at all!
Taking the Amtrak train is the easiest transportation
option to and from every stopping town if you are
doing a partial day tour! Every one of our stopping
towns except Cairo is also stop of the Amtrak train
route between Chicago
and
Carbondale,
so getting to the start or from the end could not
be easier!

travelling aboard an Amtrak train between Chicago
and Carbondale for a partial day tour.
If you wanted to cycle for the first few
days of
the
tour
you could take one of our transportation services
to Cairo before the start of the tour,
cycle
the days you wanted, and then take the train out
from
the
town
you wanted to end at back to Chicago or Carbondale
or any town in between. Likewise if you wanted
to cycle the last few days of the tour into Chicago
you could take the Amtrak train to the town you
wanted
to start from and begin from there. The choice
is entirely up to you! Registration for each day of a partial day tour
includes support in the town you will bike from and
on road support the next day. Registration for each
day does not include support in the town you will
bike to.
For example if you registered to ride from Centralia
to Kankakee, you would receive lodging and services
in Centralia on Monday, all tour services Tuesday,
and Wednesday, and breakfast and on road support
on Thursday into Kankakee. You would not be entitled
to receive breakfast in Carbondale or on road support
from Carbondale to Centralia on Monday or lodging
or services in Kankakee on Thursday.
If you are doing a partial day event you will need
to arrange all transportation plans to your personal
starting town and/or from your personal ending town
on your own.
