point since this is where most participants will depart.

Departure Using Local Public Transportation
Most CTA L trains and busses and Metra
trains will still be departing downtown after our latest
possible
arrival time, including the walking time from the main
transportation staging point to the train station.
However these CTA L and Metra train lines could
or definitely will depart Chicago after our estimated
arrival time,
particularly for RAGBRAI ending towns further away
from Chicago, and you
should make alternate travel plans accordingly:

Chicago
Hotel and Parking Garage Transportation Staging
Points
Because the parking garage and Chicago hotel are
too far from the main transportation staging point
to quickly, easily, or safely transport both your
bike and baggage there yourself we will drop off
you, your bicycle, and your baggage there directly.
You must pre-register to do this otherwise we will
drop you off at the main transportation staging point.
After we have dropped off everyone at the main
transportation staging
point we will drop off people and their bikes and bagage all at the same time
at the
parking garage and then at the Chicago hotel.
The coach bus will not proceed and drop off people
at these locations before the
moving truck arrives because it can be extremely difficult
and take a lot of time to round up everyone
back up to drop off their bikes as they
get their car, check into the hotel, etc.
