On Road Mechanical
Support
We will be the primary providers of mechanical support on
the road. Professional mechanics will not travel directly
with us on the road.
Our rest stops will be the primary location for mechanical
support on the road. We will have the ability to fix such
common problems as flat tires, loose seat posts, handlebars,
and
nuts
and bolts and will attempt to fix all other mechanical problems
to the our best of our ability. We will carry a set of
commonly used bicycle parts and tools with us, but they
are intended for emergency on road use only and not for
general, expected usage.
Due to the myriad of potential problems that can occur we
absolutely cannot guarantee that we will be able to fix all
mechanical problems or have the specific part or tool necessary
to do so. Our staff members are not professional mechanics
and we are not a bike shop. Our mechanical support is intended
for emergency use only and should not be relied upon on a
normal or expected basis. We will definitely not have the
ability to fix any major problems ourselves that require
major parts or special tools such as a bent rim.
You should not rely on us if you know or
reasonably expect to need any parts or tools
at
all since we cannot
guarantee that we will have the part or tool you need,
especially any special or uncommon parts or tools. You
will need to
carry these items with you on your bike if you know you
will need them while riding and that way you are also guaranteed
that the part or tool you
need will be available when you need it. Doing so will
also
ensure that we will have enough emergency parts and tools
for all participants
as
necessary.
Due to limited supply, participants may not use the baby
wipes available at rest stops to clean their bikes. |
