Vehicle Loading in the Morning
You will need to load your own fully packed bags all the way into our vehicles yourself. You can not just leave them outside or just partially inside our vehicles for the staff to load themselves. Doing so not only ensures that your baggage is loaded onto our vehicles, it help ensures a timely departure from the main lodging site in the morning and also saves an incredible amount of wear and tear on our staff members from having to load every single bag themselves.

There only exceptions to this policy is if there is only one main lodging site/starting location (such as if our supported hotel is also our starting location). In this situation, baggage to be delivered to the supported hotel will be placed in a separate pile then loaded in after the other bags.

Our vehicles will depart the main lodging site/starting location promptly when the route opens every day. It is extremely important that your baggage is loaded on them by that time otherwise you will have to somehow transport your baggage to the next stopping town on your own.

Participant Baggage Pick Up
After your baggage has been unloaded off our vehicles, we cannot watch it at all times and we will not be responsible if any baggage is lost or stolen.

You must bring all of your baggage items with you to where you will be sleeping shortly after you arrive. We will not store any of your baggage items overnight just because you don't want to take any of them with you.

There are a number of reasons behind this policy. First, we want to give you an incentive not to overpack. We want you to bring everything you need and nothing you really don't. Second, keeping all your personal items with you helps to keep them out of sight and secure from theft. Third, we don't want to see any baggage items remaining at sunset because that way we know everyone arrived safely off the road and that all baggage items were properly delivered to the main lodging site, supported hotel, and/or ending location as appropriate. If a baggage item is still lying where it was initially unloaded we don't know if it is there because you simply didn't want to take it with you or because a participant has not safely made it off the road or if a bag was delivered inappropriately.

Unclaimed Baggage
All baggage items must be claimed by sunset. If your bag is unclaimed, as a courtesy we may attempt to call you at the cell phone listed on the baggage item or inform you in person if we happen to see you but cannot guarantee that we will be able to do this and can not spend time looking for you.

Any baggage not claimed by sunset may be placed inside our locked vehicle for security, but we cannot guarantee that we will do this. If your baggage is placed inside the locked vehicle you will not be able to access it until it is delivered to the next stopping town the next day.
