Transportation Services
 We are pleased to offer several convenient transportation service options
both before the start and after the end of the event!
All transportation services include bicycle and baggage transportation.
Registration for our transportation services to Carbondale and from Chicago
also include an Amtrak train ticket.
These transportation services are very popular – over 3 out of 4 of
our participants use at least one of them so that they will not have to drive
all the way across the entire state of Illinois either to the start or after
the end
of the event.
Transportation Service to Carbondale and Cairo Before the Start of the Event
We will offer transportation service to Carbondale and Cairo on the Saturday
before the start of the event. This option is most popular with participants
from the Chicago area and areas north of there such as Milwaukee and Detroit.
Logistically, this transportation service will consist of two separate travel
segments:
- Transportation to Carbondale aboard an Amtrak train
- Transportation from Carbondale to Cairo aboard a charter school bus
We must have two separate trip segments because Carbondale is the
last stop on the Amtrak train line - it does
not continue all the way to Cairo. After the Amtrak train arrives in Carbondale
you
will transfer to a charter school bus that will continue to transport you
all the way from Carbondale to Cairo.

Transportation Service from Carbondale to Cairo Before the Start of the
Event
We will also offer a separate transportation service option just from Carbondale
to Cairo on the Saturday before the start of the event and there is no charge
for this service. This transportation service option is most popular with
participants arriving in Carbondale from areas in and around southern Illinois
including
St. Louis, Louisville, and Nashville. We will not offer a transportation service option from Carbondale to Cairo
after the end of the event because long term parking will not be available
in Cairo.
Long Term Parking will not be available in Cairo. If you want to leave your
car parked long term at the start of the event you will need to park it at
the Carbondale Amtrak train station take this transportation service.

from Carbondale to Cairo before the start of the event
Transportation Services from Chicago After the End of the Event
We will offer two transportation services from Chicago on the Saturday
and Sunday morning after the end of the event for participants who are
and are not continuing on the Tri-State Tour. These transportation
service options are most popular with participants initially arriving in
Carbondale before the start of the event
from areas in and around southern Illinois including St. Louis, Louisville,
and Nashville.
These two transportation
services will be logistically the same except for the days. Saturday Morning
This transportation service option is for participants who are not continuing
on the Tri-State Tour. Sunday
Morning
This transportation service option is for participants who are continuing
on the Tri-State Tour.

Mid-Route Pick Ups and Drop Offs
Mid-route pick ups and drop offs
are available at or near all our stopping towns between
Chicago and Carbondale (Kankakee, Champaign, Effingham, and Salem)!
This option is very popular with participants from in and around central
Illinois. All mid-route pick ups and drop offs must be scheduled in advance.
