Please note that we will not do mid route pick ups and drop offs directly at the Amtrak train station in each stopping town because it would take too long for our moving truck to come all the way to the Amtrak train station in each town and back out to the interstate.

We cannot do mid route pick ups and drop offs at any other location. Because of the increased time it would take you to drive between there and the Amtrak train station, there is a significantly increased risk that you would not arrive at the train station before the train does for mid-route pick ups or arrive at the drop off location significantly later than the moving truck for mid-route drop-offs.

By chosing all of our pick up/drop off locations to be gas stations at interstate exits directly off I-57 we can also better ensure a timely arrival of everyone’s bikes and baggage by filling up our vehicles with gas while we are stopped.

How to Meet Us for a Mid-Route Pick Up
Drive to the pick up location with your bicycle and baggage and wait for the moving truck to arrive. After we arrive we will load your bicycle and baggage onto the moving truck and you will drive to the Amtrak train station in that stopping town. If you are parking your car long term you will park it at the Amtrak station, otherwise you will need to arrange to be dropped off. You will then board the Amtrak train when it arrives.

How to Meet Us for a Mid-Route Drop Off
After the train arrives, pick up your car if you parked it long term at the Amtrak station, otherwise you will need to arrange to be picked up. Drive to the drop off location and wait for the moving truck to arrive. After we arrive we will unload your bicycle and baggage from the moving truck.

Schedule
It is impossible to know exactly when we will arrive at each location since our arrival time depends on when the moving truck is fully loaded and we can depart Chicago, traffic conditions, and how many mid-route towns we need to stop at. We will attempt to keep in contact with you to let you know our progress and expected arrival time, but we cannot make any guarantees. However, you may always to call us at the main phone number (877) TOUR-ILL [868-7455] for our estimated time of arrival.

Both Mid-Route Pick Up AND Drop Off
If you are planning both a mid-route pick up and drop off you will need to sign up for two transportation services. Unfortunately we cannot offer you a discount if you take the transportation service both before the start and after the end of the event because we have the same costs regardless of where your initial arrival or final departure spot is, whether it is Chicago, Carbondale, or any town in between. We will not be able to fill the space for your bike and baggage with someone else’s.

Carrying Your Bicycle and Baggage Directly on the Amtrak Train
In order to avoid stopping along the way and ensure the timely arrival of the moving truck in Carbondale, we reserve the right to have you carry your bicycle and baggage directly on the Amtrak train with you if possible because each Amtrak train can accommodate up to 4 bicycles on each train. In addition, we may arrange a separate mid-route pick up and/or drop off meeting location other than the Amtrak train station at a location right off the highway in a stopping town such as at a gas station, McDonald's, etc. in order help save time getting off and back onto the highway, but we will only do a mid-route pick up and/or drop off at one location in each stopping town. However we will neither have you bring your bike and baggage on the Amtrak train or meet us at an alternate location without coordinating you directly first.
