Effingham to Champaign

Overall Route Description
As the daily mileages increase from Effingham to Champaign the route really starts flatten out even more, although there will be some challenging rolling hills as you pedal through a few river valleys. There are many more long, straight stretches through the back roads than before which are perfect for pacelining. You’ll end up your day in Champaign/Urbana at the University of Illinois, the state's premier public university, under the shadow of Memorial Stadium and home of the Fighting Illini. Go Illini!

Century Option
The century option will occur directly on the route itself from the fourth rest stop in Pesotum into Champaign since this ride is the shortest of the day and thus the most amenable to have extra mileage added onto. There will not be an optional century loop out of the main lodging site in Champaign due to the increased traffic in Champaign - once you’re there, you’re there.
